Denton police are looking for two men who robbed a convenience store and threatened the clerks at knife-point in the 2400 block of South Interstate 35E on Sunday morning, according to reports.
Police said the two men stole four packs of beer from a cooler and left the store. One of the men then returned and threatened the clerks with a large knife, police said. The second man was armed with a small tire tool, according to a news release from the Denton Police Department.
No injuries occurred during the robbery, said Officer Ryan Grelle, Denton police spokesman. The two men were driving a dark-colored 2011 Mazda CX9 with upgraded wheels that was stolen out of Lewisville, police said. The vehicle has been recovered.
One suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 7 inches tall with a light build, with a short crew-cut-style haircut. He was wearing a dark-colored sweat shirt and dark pants, and held a blue bandana over the lower portion of his face, police said.
The other suspect was also described as Hispanic, wearing a dark-colored hoodie with dark pants. His face was fully covered and could not been seen, police said. The suspect was wearing cowhide work gloves.
The two men are believed to have committed a similar offense in Farmers Branch about an hour later, according to the release.
FM1173 and Gregg Road — One person was transported to a hospital after driving a vehicle into a pond Tuesday afternoon in Krum. The car, which was completely submerged in water, was later recovered with the help of the Lewisville Fire Department’s dive team, according to officials. The person’s condition is unknown.
