Blotter: Man taken to hospital after stabbing

A 21-year-old man had to seek medical attention after he was stabbed with a boxcutter late Tuesday night.

Police were dispatched for an aggravated assault in the 1800 block of North Ruddell Street at 11:14 p.m. Tuesday after a 21-year-old woman reportedly stabbed the man in the neck.

The man, whose relationship with the woman wasn’t reported, was taken by his roommate to an area hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The woman accused in the assault has not been caught, police said.

1000 block of South Avenue B — Police are investigating a claim that a man impersonated a Denton officer recently.

According to reports, police were dispatched after a caller reported a verbal altercation between two men.

After searching the area, police could not locate the altercation, but cleared the call and stayed in the area. While there, reports show a man reported to the officer he had been threatened by another man who claimed to be a Denton police officer.

Officer Ryan Grelle, spokesman for Denton police, said the man wasn’t wearing a uniform.

1600 block of East McKinney Street — An area business reported to police that three women took merchandise without paying Tuesday.

Police said the women took items of unknown value and were gone upon arrival.

According to police reports, the store employees said the women had purchased a few items, but had concealed others in their purses.

They left the store without paying for the concealed items, employees told police.

Corinth police assisted two agencies, one motorist and responded to 12 traffic calls, three traffic accidents, one welfare concern, one ordinance violation, two noise complaints, two electrical fires, three animal complaints and one medical call.

Double Oak police responded to four traffic calls.

Hickory Creek police assisted two agencies and responded to two traffic calls and one traffic accident.

Justin firefighters responded to one structure fire. Justin police assisted one agency and responded to one noise complaint, one suspicious vehicle, one theft and five traffic calls.

Krum firefighters responded to three medical calls. Krum police assisted one agency and responded to one assault, one burglary, one ordinance violation, two animal complaints and two traffic calls.

Lake Cities firefighters responded to six medical calls, one electrical fire and three traffic accidents.

Lewisville police made eight arrests.

Little Elm firefighters responded to three medical calls. Little Elm police assisted two agencies and three motorists and responded to one assault, one burglary, one Child Protective Services referral, two criminal trespass calls, one harassment call, one noise complaint, four ordinance violations, one call about a person with a gun, three reckless drivers, two suspicious activity calls, three theft calls, 22 traffic calls, one traffic complaint, three traffic accidents, two animal bite reports, three animal complaints and one animal cruelty report.

Northeast police assisted one agency and responded to nine traffic calls.

Northlake police responded to two suspicious activity calls and three traffic calls.

Oak Point firefighters responded to one illegal burn and one traffic accident. Oak Point police responded to one ordinance violation, two traffic calls, two welfare concerns and one traffic accident.

Ponder firefighters responded to two medical calls.

Pilot Point firefighters responded to one medical call. Pilot Point police assisted one agency and responded to one medical call, one disturbance call, one missing person report, one criminal mischief report, one suspicious activity call, one theft and six traffic calls.

Sanger firefighters responded to two medical calls. Sanger police assisted one agency and one motorist and responded to one welfare concern, one traffic accident, nine traffic calls, two animal complaints and three suspicious activity calls.

Trophy Club firefighters responded to one traffic call and one medical call. Trophy Club police responded to one disturbance call, one forgery call, one suspicious activity call, two traffic calls, one traffic complaint, one medical call and one animal complaint.
