Out-of-county warrants led to a night in jail for a Denton woman on Sunday night.
A Denton officer patrolling a motel in the 700 block of Fort Worth Drive spotted a woman sitting on luggage outside of a room.
The officer made contact with the woman and ran a check on her. Dispatch reported the woman had two warrants out of the county, according to the police report.
The officer arrested the woman and, during a search, located a meth pipe in her bra, reports state. After transporting her to the Denton city jail and during an inventory of the female’s property, the officer reported finding several other items of drug paraphernalia, leading the woman to be charged with possession of drug paraphernalia as well as with the two warrants out of the county. The paraphernalia was placed into property to be destroyed, according to the police report.
4000 block of Redstone Road — An officer was attempting to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation around 8:50 a.m. Sunday. The vehicle was also called in to the police dispatch as an intoxicated driver.
The driver did not stop for the officer’s emergency lights and sirens and several commands to pull over, reports state. The driver finally pulled into an apartment complex driveway that was blocked by a gate and stopped. The suspect was then arrested on charges of evading arrest in a motor vehicle and driving while intoxicated.
The passenger in the vehicle was charged with public intoxication.
100 block of Avenue A — A woman was seen being carried by a man over his shoulder early Sunday.
When officers made contact with her around 1 a.m., she was found to be highly intoxicated and was unable to confirm the male’s relationship with her or assist officers in finding her a responsible sober party to take custody of her.
She was charged with public intoxication and, while en route to the jail, kicked out the window frame of a squad car, reports state.
