Blotter: Report: Mouse helps link man to burglary

A mouse put one man behind bars recently.

Denton police arrested and charged a 22-year-old man Tuesday morning with burglary of a building after he reportedly broke into an apartment in the 1500 block of Meadow Street.

Police said the man was caught on surveillance footage taking a mouse, keyboard and computer from the apartment sometime between 4:20 and 4:35 a.m. that morning.

The stolen items were later found in the suspect’s apartment, according to reports.

300 block Coronado Drive — Two people were arrested after someone reported a possible stolen vehicle was in the area Tuesday morning.

Police found a 45-year-old woman and 40-year-old man inside a green Chevrolet pickup with inconsistent license plates. The front plates confirmed the pickup was stolen from Lancaster in southern Dallas County, police said. They were charged with theft of more than $1,500 and less than $20,000.

Denton firefighters assisted one agency and responded to 14 medical calls, one grass fire, two good-intent calls and one vehicle accident.
