Vista Academy intends to break ground today on a facility slated for construction on property located at Interstate 35 East and Meadowview Drive in Corinth.

The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 9 a.m., and the charter school anticipates opening its new facility in August 2015, according to officials.

The academy currently has a facility on Point Vista Drive in Hickory Creek for students in kindergarten through fifth grade, according to the Vista Academies website.

Lewisville-based Responsive Education Solutions owns the property where the new school is slated to be built, according to data on the Denton Central Appraisal District website.

Rebecca Davison, travel and event planner for Responsive Education Solutions, said Vista Academy’s current facility in Hickory Creek is “just not big enough” to accommodate growing student enrollment there. She said about 8 acres were purchased on the property at I-35 and Meadowview Drive in Corinth.

Vista Academies, according to its website, has 11 locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and 14 others across the state.
