Blotter: Pregnant woman reports assault at family gathering

An incident at a family reunion led to a charge of family violence Saturday.

Denton police were called for a gathering in the 500 block of Maddox Street in response to a domestic disturbance.

The caller, a 20-year-old woman from Houston, told police she was at a family reunion when an intoxicated family member grabbed her by the neck and pushed her down. The victim said she is eight months pregnant, according to a police report.

After interviewing witnesses, police arrested the suspect on a family violence assault charge, and she was transported to the city jail.

100 block of Bernard Street — Denton officers responded to a domestic disturbance call Saturday after two roommates fought, according to a police report.

One roommate called 911 after leaving the scene and said the other roommate threatened to pull a knife.

Police took photographs of both roommates’ injuries, and a report was taken.
