FLOWER MOUND — A search was ongoing Sunday for a 30-year-old mountain biker who disappeared Saturday near Grapevine Lake.

Wesley Hixson of Roanoke was last seen at 10 a.m. Saturday on a bike trail in Murrell Park. He was riding a gray mountain bike and wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts, a black helmet and sunglasses. He is 5-foot-8 and 150 pounds.

Cyclists told police Saturday afternoon that they lost track of Hixson and worried he might be disoriented from a bike crash earlier Saturday. Police and rescue crews searched for Hixson in the park and lake until dark Saturday and resumed the search Sunday morning.

“We’ll be dialing back resources after dark,” Flower Mound police Capt. Richard Brooks said Sunday evening. “But we’ll keep searching until we have a definitive answer about where he is.”
