Blotter: Police arrest Denton couple on various charges

Denton police made two arrests after being called to a disturbance in the 700 block of Juno Lane late Friday night.

A 38-year-old woman called to complain that her husband would not leave their residence, police said.

Police charged the husband, 38, with public intoxication and brought him into custody, reports state. Police said the wife was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana and was charged and brought to jail.

1700 block of East McKinney Street — A 39-year-old woman was charged with assault Friday night, reports state. Police said they were called out to a domestic disturbance at 7:39 p.m., and after further investigation, they reported the woman was the aggressor in an altercation between her and a 47-year-old man.

400 block of Fulton Street — A 21-year-old man was charged with possession of marijuana Friday morning, reports state. Police said the man was found to be in possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia and was brought to the city jail. He also had three outstanding warrants, police records show.

Twenty-seven people were booked into the Denton County Jail.

Denton police posted 15 reports online.

Texas Woman’s University police responded to 36 calls for service and 19 moving violations and made two arrests.

From Sunday, June 22, to Wednesday:

University of North Texas police made one public intoxication arrest, one driving while intoxicated arrest, one possession of a controlled substance arrest, two criminal trespass arrests and two outside agency warrant arrests.
