Blotter: Police respond to man’s domestic violence call

Officers responded to a domestic violence call after a woman allegedly hurt her boyfriend during an argument, police said.

According to reports, Denton police were called out to the 3800 block of Stuart Road after 10 p.m. Tuesday after the alleged victim — a 52-year-old man — reported the dispute to police.

Officer Ryan Grelle, spokesman for Denton police, said the couple were in a relationship with each other and that during an argument about rent, the woman elbowed the man in the stomach.

Upon police arrival, the woman, 54, had left the residence, according to reports. Police said the man did not fear future violence and was advised to contact police again if his girlfriend returned confrontational.

2500 block of Shady Shores Road — A 49-year-old woman reported a recent burglary of her home.

Police reports show that she asked an acquaintance to watch her home and care for her pets while she was away, and upon her return, she noticed several items missing, including money.

Forty-eight people were booked into the Denton County Jail.

Denton police responded to 273 service and officer-initiated calls and posted 16 reports online.

Denton firefighters responded to 19 medical calls, one gas leak, three vehicle accidents and one vehicle fire and assisted one agency.
