Offices set to close for Independence Day

Federal, state, county and area city offices will be closed Friday to observe the Fourth of July holiday.

The city is offering $1 admission to the Civic Center Pool until 6 p.m. Friday. The Natatorium and Water Works Park will be open regular operating hours. The Civic Center will be open after the parade, from 10 a.m. to noon, with children’s games, food and other post-parade festivities. The Denton Senior Center will serve a holiday luncheon from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Other Denton recreation centers and libraries will be closed, with all libraries closing at 6 p.m. today.

To reach the Denton Police Department for a non-emergency, call 940-349-8181. To report a utility service emergency, call 940-349-7000.

The landfill will be open Friday from 7 a.m. until noon and normal hours on Saturday, but the ReUse Store will be closed Saturday.

Airport administrative offices will be closed Friday, but the tower and flight services will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The airfield will be open all day.
