Investigation of Aubrey holiday accident goes on

Two children remain in serious condition and two adults also remain hospitalized after a two-vehicle accident in Aubrey on the Fourth of July.

Aubrey police Sgt. David Bruce said Sunday afternoon that the two sisters, ages 5 and 8, were still in “very serious” condition at Children’s Medical Center Dallas. The children’s mother also remains hospitalized with injuries at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, he said.

Bruce said the woman was driving a silver Nissan west on FM428 after noon Friday when she crossed the center stripe and into the path of an eastbound white Lexus, causing a near head-on collision.

The woman and her two children were transported by air ambulance to Dallas hospitals.

The driver of the Lexus was transported by air ambulance Friday, but law enforcement officials said Sunday she has since been discharged. A passenger who was in the Lexus remains hospitalized.

An investigation into the accident is still underway, Bruce said.
