Blotter: Police arrest man after panhandling complaint

Denton police officers said they put a stop to an intoxicated man’s panhandling Saturday evening.

Officers were dispatched to a shopping area near the 1500 block of South Loop 288 in reference to a man’s panhandling activity.

The offices spoke with a man who was soliciting on the side of the road without a permit.

While talking to him, they observed that he was intoxicated, according to a police report.

A check with dispatchers revealed the man had several recent convictions for public intoxication.

Police arrested the man on a charge of public intoxication with three or more convictions, according to the report.

3000 block of Interstate 35E — A man reported the catalytic convertor was removed from his vehicle.
