Blotter: Denton police take man into custody on warrant

A 28-year-old man wanted on a charge of endangering a child attempted to run from Denton police officers when they tried to serve a warrant at his home in the 500 block of Maddox Street on Wednesday afternoon.

Officer Ryan Grelle, police department spokesman, said the man ran from the front yard into the house, where he was taken into custody.

3000 block of Olympia Drive — Denton police have identified suspects in two recent home burglaries, but no charges have been filed, according to a police report. Someone kicked in doors to gain entrance to two houses on Olympia Drive between July 11 and 14, and the garage door at one of the residences was also damaged, police said. No damage estimate was available.

Double Oak firefighters responded to two traffic calls and one traffic accident.

Hickory Creek police assisted two agencies and three motorists and responded to 25 traffic calls, three traffic complaints, two welfare concerns and one traffic accident.

Justin police responded to five traffic calls.

Krum firefighters assisted one motorist and responded to one traffic accident. Krum police responded to one burglary, one suspicious activity call and three traffic calls and assisted one agency.

Lake Cities firefighters responded to three medical calls, one carbon monoxide or hazardous materials call, one electrical fire, two vehicle fires and one traffic accident.

Little Elm firefighters responded to three medical calls, one electrical fire, one structure fire, one traffic call and three traffic accidents. Little Elm police made two arrests and responded to one medical call, one disturbance call, one criminal mischief call, one intoxicated person, one narcotics report, one noise complaint, one ordinance violation, one reckless driver, one theft, one traffic complaint, 29 traffic calls, two traffic incidents and three animal complaints and assisted one motorist.

Northeast police responded to one medical call, one forgery report, one reckless driver and 11 traffic calls.

Northlake police assisted one agency and responded to one ordinance violation, one suspicious activity call and 23 traffic calls.

Oak Point firefighters responded to one medical call. Oak Point police responded to one medical call, one report of gunshots, one ordinance violation, six traffic calls and one welfare concern.

Ponder police responded to one traffic call and assisted one agency.

Pilot Point firefighters responded to one structure fire and one medical call and assisted one citizen. Pilot Point police assisted one agency and one motorist and responded to one reckless boater, one suspicious activity call, four traffic calls, one welfare concern and one animal complaint.

Sanger firefighters assisted two citizens and five motorists and responded to two medical calls, one vehicle fire and one traffic accident. Sanger police assisted two agencies, one citizen and six motorists and responded to one disturbance call, one auto theft, one ordinance violation, one reckless driver, one suspicious activity call, one theft, seven traffic calls, one traffic complaint, two traffic accidents and three animal complaints.

Trophy Club firefighters responded to one medical call and one carbon monoxide or hazardous materials call. Trophy Club police responded to two suspicious activity calls, six traffic calls, one welfare call and two animal complaints.
