Blotter: Meth found on man arrested on other warrants

An arrest on past warrants led to a new charge for one Denton man.

After police made a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Teasley Lane on Saturday evening, the driver was found to have outstanding warrants for his arrest. After he was arrested, a small bag of a substance determined to be methamphetamine was found in his pocket, according to a police report.

The man was charged with possession of less than a gram of a controlled substance, according to the report.

900 block of Greenlee Street — A Denton officer learned by radio that a window air-conditioning unit had been taken from an address near Greenlee Street on Saturday and that the suspect’s vehicle license was linked to an address on Meadow Oak Drive.

The officer responded to the Meadow Oak area and located the suspect’s vehicle driving south on Mulkey Lane. The officer stopped the vehicle and was able to recover the window unit.

5300 block of East McKinney Street — Denton officers were dispatched to a hit-and-run call early Saturday morning after a caller reported that he had witnessed the accident and had detained the suspect.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and transported to Denton City Jail.
