Blotter: Warrant leads to marijuana arrest

When police received warrant information on a vehicle, a traffic stop was made and the driver was identified as the individual named in the warrants.

Officers noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and a search turned up drug paraphernalia and .03 of an ounce of marijuana, police said. The driver was arrested.

6400 block of Saddleback Drive — Officers were dispatched to a house to check out a disturbance report and found that there had been an argument between foster parents and a mental health client who they care for and house.

The foster parents told police that the client refuses to take his medications and wanders the street at all hours. The client claimed that the foster father had pushed him. The client left with a friend and a report was prepared.

3500 block of Quail Creek Drive — Denton officers were dispatched to a residence in response to a domestic dispute. The victim reported that the suspect had kicked her.

1600 block of Glendora Court — Officers responded to a 911 hang-up that turned out to be a domestic dispute involving a child upset about getting in trouble for having boys visit. Officers talked to all of the parties, found a mutually accepted solution and made a report of the situation.

From 7 a.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Tuesday:

Denton County sheriff’s dispatchers handled 720 service and officer-initiated calls for the agencies they serve and 29 people were booked into Denton County Jail.

Denton police handled 280 service and officer-initiated calls and posted 14 reports online.

Denton firefighters responded to 21 medical calls, three public service calls and a malfunctioning alarm.
