Blotter: Man arrested for possessing brass knuckles

Denton police responded to a disturbance call reporting that a man was slashing tires at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday in the 3100 block of Bandera Street near the Howard Johnson Express Inn, according to a police report.

When officers arrived, they spotted a male suspect running through a parking lot. They stopped and questioned him. He told officers he was carrying brass knuckles, the report said.

He was arrested for possession of prohibited weapons.

600 block of Fort Worth Drive — Two juveniles called police at about 9:45 p.m. Friday to report abandonment after their mother kicked them out of their hotel room the night prior.

According to a police report, the children were forced to walk the Denton streets before seeking shelter in a stranger’s house for the night. The report didn’t state why the mother abandoned her children. An investigation is pending.

4700 block of Herond Pond Lane — Denton police responded to a domestic disturbance call at about 8 p.m. Saturday.

According to a police report, the wife attacked the husband, ripping his shirt and scratching his collarbone area and bicep. The wife admitted she’d hit and scratched her husband because she was upset.

The wife was arrested and charged with assault-family violence causing bodily injury. An investigation is pending.
