Denton resident and World War II veteran Paul Ferrar, left, 96, talks with family friend Keith Horn, as Ferrar was honored in a reception, Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Oakmont Country Club in Denton, Texas. He was known as a "telephone man" when he served in the military. Farrar survived combat on the European front, then came home to build a life, a family and career.
