A Sanger police officer has been placed on administrative leave and remains in Denton County Jail on two criminal charges after an investigation that began earlier this month. Justin Fuller

Justin Aaron Fuller, 40, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of tampering with a witness, and bail was set at $250,000. On Wednesday an additional charge of criminal solicitation of a minor was added. Bail has not yet been set on that charge.

According to sheriff's spokesman Tom Reedy, a third party reported to Denton County sheriff's deputies on Sept. 12 that the minor made an outcry of an offense that took place in April.

"It is of a sexual nature," Reedy said.

The tampering charge involved a conversation that Fuller is accused of having with a witness to the solicitation charge.

"He is charged with talking to a witness in an effort to influence what the witness said to authorities. He threatened to take certain actions, and the witness took it as a threat," Reedy said.

Reedy said that because the victim is a minor, specific information about the crimes would not be released.

Sanger Police Chief Curtis Amyx said Wednesday that he learned of the investigation Tuesday and placed Fuller on administrative leave pending the outcome of the case. Fuller has been a patrol officer with the department since 2002, Amyx said.
