The Denton Stakeholder Drilling Advisory Group will hold two more panel discussions on natural gas drilling.
The discussions are scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 20 and Oct. 27 in Room 110 of the University of North Texas Environmental Education, Science and Technology Building, on the west side of Avenue C between Mulberry and Hickory streets. The meetings are open to the public and will include time for questions from the audience.
The Oct. 20 session will feature speakers from the industry and state regulatory agencies. The Oct. 27 session will focus on the industry's environmental and public health effects.
The stakeholder group is part of a research project led by a UNT philosophy professor. The group is separate from an official task force helping the City Council rewrite Denton's gas drilling ordinance, although council member Kevin Roden is one of the organizers.
The stakeholder group held its first panel discussion in August featuring residents involved in ordinance reviews in other cities. For more information, visit www.dentondrilling.blogspot.com .
