Aubrey will celebrate its sesquicentennial with an all-day celebration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16 in the at the downtown Aubrey festival grounds, 301 Main St.
The 150th celebration is a free family event. Children will be able to make butter and ice cream or take part in a coloring booth. The celebration includes a host of contests: a bonnet and hat contest, a beard contest, costume contest, grandma's favorite recipe contest and a watermelon seed spitting contest.
