Blotter: Multiple business owners report burglaries

Multiple businesses were burglarized Thursday night, as business owners discovered the following morning, according to reports.

Two businesses located in suites in the 2200 block of South Loop 288 were broken into, and another two attempted burglaries at businesses were reported.

One business reported to police a computer and some cash was stolen.

Other reports

2400 block of Leslie Street — A 26-year-old woman was arrested during a routine traffic stop after police found drug paraphernalia in the driver’s pockets, according to a police report.

The driver had a glass pipe in her pocket, and she told officers she had used it to smoke methamphetamine, reports state.

Initially, she was pulled over for turning right from the wrong lane.

She was arrested and transported to the city jail, according to the report.

1500 block of South Loop 288 — A 47-year-old store employee was arrested after police saw she was switching price tags on items before purchasing them, according to reports.

The woman allegedly switched the price tags and went to pay for them at self-checkout, but the receipt for the items paid did not match the items in her possession.

She was arrested for fraudulent destruction, removal and concealment of writing.


From 7 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday:

* Forty-five people were booked into Denton County Jail.

* Denton police posted 10 reports online.

From Sunday, March 2, to Saturday:

Texas Woman’s University police responded to 62 calls for service, five reports, three escorts, 26 moving violations and three arrests.

From Sunday, March 2, to Thursday:

University of North Texas police assisted one agency, arrested three people for possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana, issued two citations for alcoholic beverages on campus and one municipal citation, and responded to one medical call, a burglary of a vehicle, two reports of theft between $1,500 and $20,000, one report of theft between $50 and $500, a report of criminal mischief and a report of criminal trespassing.
