Blotter: No arrest made after fight at party

A fight at a party left Denton police officers with no suspect in custody and varying accounts of what actually happened Saturday night.

When an officer responded to a residence in the 4100 block of Red Wolfe Road, she saw several people standing around a male victim on the ground who was bleeding from his head, according to a police report.

After an on-scene investigation, the officer determined the incident started because a guest at the party became offended by another guest’s action and was asked by the host to leave. After the suspect left the party, the victim was outside and the two got into an altercation that left the victim sprawled out on the concrete until the other partygoers found him outside, according to the report.

By the time the officer arrived on the scene, the suspect had left.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. When the officer tried interviewing the individuals remaining at the scene, they either did not see the incident or were too intoxicated to provide good information, according to the report.

The officer later interviewed both the victim and suspect, and they gave different stories about what happened, according to the report.
