Blotter: Woman drives into store in The Colony, police say

A 62-year-old woman drove a sedan into a convenience store Sunday morning in The Colony, according to police.

Police Lt. Darren Brockway said the driver pulled up to the store’s gas pumps and hit the accelerator instead of the brakes, lunging the car into a wall. The accident happened at 10:55 a.m. Sunday at a business in the 6800 block of Main Street.

The woman was uninjured and no charges are pending, he said.

An estimated amount to the damage of the building wasn’t immediately available.

3200 block of North Locust Street — A supervisor at a health center reported to police Saturday morning that an employee assaulted a client there between 8 and 10 p.m. Friday.

Police took photos of the victim’s injuries and place them into evidence.

900 block of Providence Street — A 27-year-old man was charged with assault Saturday after he reportedly abused his ex-girlfriend, police said.

According to police reports, the man struck a 23-year-old woman, the mother of his child, while he was intoxicated.
