Blotter: Pot leads to bleeding lip and arrest

After he allegedly threw a pot at his cousin, police arrested a man on a charge of family violence assault causing bodily injury about 6:30 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of East Sherman Drive.

Denton police officers were dispatched to a home to find a female with a bleeding lip after she was assaulted by her cousin who threw a pot at her head, according to a police report. The bleeding cousin refused to be evaluated by paramedics, according to the report. Police arrested 60 year-old Henry Leyba of Denton after conducting an investigation.

Leyba was being held at Denton County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

A Denton officer was dispatched to Medical City Denton on Saturday morning in reference to an assault, and the victim said she was slapped "without permission," according to the police report.

It is unclear whether any arrests have been made, and the investigation is pending.

2600 block of Mayhill Road — A caller told police Saturday that one of her tenants “punched holes in the wall because he was intoxicated” at an apartment complex in the 2600 block of Mayhill Road, according to a police report.

A charge of criminal mischief and vandalism is pending and police documented the damage.
