Blotter: Man arrested on DWI charge after trying to park his car

At about 8 p.m. Saturday, police received a call from the 2400 block of S. Interstate 35E with complaints of a man driving into another vehicle in the parking lot of a Tetco convenience store. 

The driver fled the scene before officers could arrive, but police eventually caught up with the suspect. 

The suspect was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

Other reports 

300 block of Meadow Lane — At about midnight Saturday, police dispatchers reported receiving calls from residents who had heard gunshots. Residents thought a damaged vehicle at a home might be involved with the suspected gunfire, but police found it was not.

Residents believe they heard gunshots when the suspect's vehicle fled the area, according to a police report. 

7800 block of Stallion Street — At about 3 p.m. Saturday, an assault report was made about a caller being assaulted by her child's father. According to a police report, the suspect pulled the victim out of a vehicle after a dispute regarding a photo he had of her. 

A resident on Stallion Street began recording the incident with his phone, and then the suspect fled the scene. Officers could not find the suspect, but soon after the resident called police and said he believes the suspect drove into his back gate.

From 6 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday, Denton police responded to 166 calls for service, made nine arrests and filed 13 misdemeanor charges.
