Blotter: Man charged with harassment of a public servant at local motel

A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with harassing a public servant in the 800 block of Interstate 35E on Friday, according to a Denton police report. 

The suspect reportedly had been given a notice of criminal trespass some time prior to his arrest, the report said. Officers arrested the man on a charge of trespassing at America's Best Value Inn. He was taken to the Denton City Jail, with his bail amount yet to be determined on Saturday.

A 40-year-old man was arrested Saturday in Denton after accumulating six public intoxication warrants and one alcohol violation warrant from the Dallas Police Department, according to Denton jail records. 

He was held in the Denton City Jail on Saturday in lieu of bail totaling  $4,363. 

300 block of McKinney Street — A 41-year-old man was arrested after he was found in possession of methamphetamine Friday, according to a police report. 

He was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance of less than 1 gram, and on a Denton police warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia, the report said. 

He was held in the Denton City Jail on Saturday in lieu of a $475 fine for possession of paraphernalia and a bail amount that was to be determined. No other information was available Saturday. 

300 block of Fry Street —Police responded to a theft report Friday after a 26-year-old man reported his mini fridge was stolen off his balcony, according to a police report. 

Officers arrived to take a report and reviewed video footage. No other information was available Saturday.

From 6 a.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday, Denton police responded to 154 calls for service, made 16 arrests, filed 29 charges, including three felony and 26 misdemeanor charges, and filed 16 reports online.
