Blotter: Denton police arrest man on assault charge

A 31-year-old man was arrested on Thursday after his girlfriend accused him of assaulting her near a south Denton storage facility in the 500 block of Smith Street, according to police. 

Denton police were called to a domestic disturbance at Affordable Self Storage at about 8:30 a.m. The caller said she was assaulted by her boyfriend, and he was later arrested on a charge of family violence assault. 

He was taken to Denton City Jail.

1500 block of South Loop 288 — An unidentified man damaged another man's vehicle with a shopping cart Thursday in the Target parking lot, according to police. 

The victim said he saw the man push the cart into his vehicle, causing minor damage. Police took a report at 9:30 p.m., but no arrests were made. 

3100 block of Jim Christal Road — A large number of tires were stolen from a man's business sometime Wednesday, according to a police report. Police took a report at 4:30 p.m. No arrests were made.
