A 25-year-old man was arrested in the 3800 block of Camelot Street after reportedly assaulting his girlfriend, according to a Denton police report.
The 29-year-old girlfriend reportedly called police Friday and notified them of the alleged assault. After an investigation, police arrested the suspect on a charge of family violence assault with a previous conviction. He was being held in the Denton City Jail on Saturday in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
1400 block of West University Drive — A 20-year-old woman and 47-year-old man were arrested Friday in connection to an alleged forgery of a financial statement, according to a police report.
Police officers were dispatched after a caller reported the woman trying to cash a fraudulent check for $2,441.45, the report said. Police later found the vehicle with the woman in it traveling eastbound on West University Drive and conducted a traffic stop.
The woman was arrested for forgery of a financial statement and in connection with a theft warrant from the Irving Police department. The owner of the check, a company located in Arizona, advised police the check was counterfeit, the report said.
She was being held Saturday in the Denton City Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $3126.60, according to city jail records.
