A 40-year-man called Denton police late Friday to report that he heard ghosts in his house.

When police arrived at the man's house, they had found him in possession of marijuana, which he was using in place of his schizophrenia medication, according to a police report.

The man was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana and evaluated by Denton County MHMR when he arrived at the city jail.

Other reports

2700 block of West University Drive — A loss prevention officer at Walmart witnessed three people place grocery items into a cart, pass all points of sale, and leave without making any attempts to purchase the items, according to a police report.

The merchandise totaled $257.21. Two of the suspects were arrested and charged with theft.

200 block of Dallas Drive — Employees at Calvert Automotive saw an unknown suspect climbing the roof of the business while viewing surveillance video footage taken the night before. A garden hose was stolen, they told police.

A report was taken, and no arrests were made.

Intersection of 35E and Lillian Miller Parkway — A driver told police that another woman threw something at her car during a road rage incident and broke a window. She also said the suspect cursed at her.

Police noticed the car's window was not broken, but according to the woman there was a smudge that was wiped off and a scratch on the back door.

The damage was not consistent with the events described by the woman, so no criminal mischief report was taken.  A report was taken for disorderly conduct.

Between 6 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Sunday, Denton police made 170 calls for service and 14 arrests, and filed four felony charges and 13 misdemeanor charges.
