Hickory St. Cocktails by Metzler's, hors d'oeuvres by Barley & Board, casino games including a high-limit lounge, music by David Pierce and his Holiday Orchestra and DJ Woodtronic, champagne taste, prizes and more. $100 per person, or $175 per couple. 10 a.m. to noon -- Holiday Trout Derby at the Johnson Branch Unit of Ray Roberts Lake State Park, on FM3002, 7 miles east of I-35. The Kid Fish Pond will be stocked with rainbow trout for kids of all ages to catch, and prizes will be awarded in several categories. Warm up with hot chocolate. Bring your own fishing poles; some poles and tackle will be available to borrow. Event will be canceled in the case of inclement weather. $7 entrance fee for ages 13 and older. Call 940-637-2636.

2 p.m. -- First Day Hike at the Isle du Bois Unit of Ray Roberts Lake State Park, on FM455, 10 miles east of I-35. Go on a ranger-led hike on the 2.2-mile Randy Bell Scenic Trail, and learn about native flora and fauna. Meet at the Hawthorne Campground Parking Lot. $7 entrance fee for ages 13 and older.
