WEDNESDAY, DEC. 20

11 a.m. to noon -- Holiday Crafting Sing-Along with SCRAP Denton at Emily Fowler Central Library, 502 Oakland St. Come-and-go program recommended for children ages 3-10 and their caregivers. Free. Call 940-349-8752 or visit library.cityofdenton.com.

2 to 3:15 p.m. -- Teen Food Lab: "Gingerbread Build-Off" for ages 10-17 at South Branch Library, 3228 Teasley Lane. Compete to build the ultimate gingerbread house. Free; supplies provided, but registration is required. Call 940-349-8752 or visit library.cityofdenton.com.

THURSDAY, DEC. 21

7 a.m. to 6 p.m. -- Winter Holiday Camp at the Denton Civic Center, 321 E. McKinney St. Activities and field trips for kids in grades K-6. $30 per day. Registration deadline is two days prior to each camp date. To register, visit www.dentonparks.com, call 940-349-7275 or visit the Civic Center.

5 to 10 p.m. -- Eat Drink & Be Tacky Bar Crawl, a fundraiser for the Denton Holiday Lighting Festival, at Komodo Loco, Paschall Bar, East Side Denton, Oak St. Drafthouse, Harvest House and Mulberry Street Cantina. Ugly sweater contest, bar hopping and raffle ticket sales. Limited to 60 guests. Tickets cost $30; includes six drink tickets, appetizers at Komodo Loco and a Pan Ector koozie. FRIDAY, DEC. 22

7 p.m. -- Texas Smooth Groove Holiday Concert featuring Tom Braxton, members of Fingerprints and Mark Harper, with guest Toni Redd. At Medical City Lewisville Grand Theatre, 100 N. Charles St. in Lewisville. DJ Flanagan plays an after-party starting at 9:30 p.m. in the MCL Grand Theatre Black Box. $30 in advance, $40 at the door. After-party tickets cost $30. THURSDAY, DEC. 28

5:30 p.m. -- Kwanzaa Celebration at Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center, 1300 Wilson St. Kwanzaa, from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1, intends to help African-Americans reconnect with their African cultural and historical heritage. Event includes speakers discussing the seven principles of Kwanzaa, plus vendors, crafts, light refreshments and a raffle. Call 940-349-8575.

SUNDAY, DEC. 31

8 p.m. to 1 a.m. -- Lil'd NYE, a New Year's Eve fundraising bash hosted by the Greater Denton Arts Council and United Way of Denton County, at the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center, 400 E. Hickory St. Cocktails by Metzler's, hors d'oeuvres by Barley & Board, casino games including a high-limit lounge, music by David Pierce and his Holiday Orchestra and DJ Woodtronic, champagne taste, prizes and more. $100 per person, or $175 per couple. Dec. 27-29 -- Camp SCRAP for ages 6-12 at SCRAP Denton, 420 S. Bell Ave. Campers will use recycled materials to create projects. The three-day camp meets from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. $135; discounted rate of $115 for siblings. Register at www.scrapdenton.org.

The Gift of Art: An Art Sale Exhibition features an exhibit of work for sale by more than 25 artists at the Medical City of Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles St. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday through Dec. 30; extended hours until 9 p.m. on Dec. 14-16, Dec. 22 and Dec. 29. Also open from 1 to 9 p.m. Dec. 17.
