SATURDAY, DEC. 9

10 a.m. to noon -- Santa's Snap Shots at Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center, 1300 Wilson St. Kids of all ages can visit with Santa, snap a photo and enjoy games and activities. $5 per child.

1 to 5 p.m. -- Dan's Winter Market at Dan's Silverleaf, 103 Industrial St. Artists and crafts people will sell items, art and food. Free admission. Visit www.danssilverleaf.com.

2:30 and 7:30 p.m. -- The Festival Ballet of North Central Texas presents The Nutcracker at Margo Jones Performance Hall, on the first floor of the TWU Music Building, at 1100 Oakland St. $20-$40. Visit www.festivalballet.net.

2 to 10 p.m. -- YĆ¼letyde, a Viking-inspired winter celebration, at 702 E. Sherman Drive. The Denton Chapter of the Connoisseur's Club of Smoking and Drinking and 7Feathers present the third annual event. Featuring music by Space Ape, Dieselbeast and Rock N Roll Cannibals. 5 to 9 p.m. -- Olde Time Christmas at the Bartonville Town Center, 2650 FM407. With music by the Poor Kings, North Pole kids' train, live reindeer, face painting, carriage rides, balloon artist, dancing and hot chocolate. Free; donations of boxed cookie and brownie mix, boxed cornbread, canned green beans, boxed stuffing, canned corn and large boxes of mashed potatoes will benefit the Mission Moms meals for families. Hickory St. Shop for locally made gifts and buy dinner from local food trucks. Santa Claus will be there for photos. With holiday music and treats. HOLIDAY CAMPS

Dec. 21-22, Dec. 26-29 and Jan. 2-3 -- Winter Holiday Camp at the Denton Civic Center, 321 E. McKinney St. Activities and field trips for kids in grades K-6 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (drop off by 9 a.m.) $30 per day. Registration deadline is two days prior to each camp date. Dec. 27-29 -- Camp SCRAP for ages 6-12 at SCRAP Denton, 420 S. Bell Ave. Campers will use recycled materials to create projects. The three-day camp meets from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. $135; discounted rate of $115 for siblings. Register at www.scrapdenton.org.
