Corinth church to host 'festival of lights'

The Festival of Lights, a family Christmas celebration, will be from Friday, Dec. 8, to Sunday, Dec. 10 at the Global Spheres Center, 7801 S. Interstate 35E in Corinth.

The free weekend event promises a display of thousands of lights, children's activities, food trucks, music — bands and roving carolers — dance, living nativity, arts and crafts workshops and a flea market. 

Attendees should bring a canned good for the Lake Cities Community Food Pantry. For more information, call 940-382-7231. 

The schedule is as follows:

Friday, Dec. 8 

4 p.m. —  Festival starts, with live entertainment, markets and food trucks

5:30 p.m. — The lights come on. Dance performances by Illuminate! Creative Arts

6 p.m. — Live music in the garden

7 to 9 p.m. — Door prize winners announced, followed by music showcase on the pavilion stage

Saturday, Dec. 9

9 a.m. — Funky Flea and Beulah markets open. They run throughout the day.

4 p.m. — Live entertainment, markets and food trucks begin

5:30 p.m. — Lights come on. Dance performances from Illuminate! Creative Arts

6 p.m. — Live music in the garden

7 to 9 p.m. — Door prize winners announced, followed by music showcase on the pavilion stage

Sunday, Dec. 10

9 a.m. — Holiday worship service in the Global Spheres Center

1 p.m. — Lunch sold. Funky Flea and Beulah markets open

5 p.m. — Markets close, festival ends.
