Mosquito traps coming up positive for West Nile virus in Denton County

County officials announced plans to spray for mosquitoes on two peninsulas in eastern Lewisville Lake after the latest mosquito trap tested positive for West Nile virus near Hackberry. 

The trap is the fifth positive trap found in eastern Denton County so far this year. Other traps have tested positive in Frisco, Lewisville, Little Elm and The Colony. No human cases of West Nile virus have been reported so far this year in Denton County. 

Crews will groundspray for mosquitoes overnight Thursday, Friday and Saturday in neighborhoods southwest of Frisco and Hackberry.
