Krum, Mustang water supply receive state financing for system improvements

The Texas Water Development Board announced Thursday that it will finance $50.9 million in new water projects statewide, including nearly $5 million in Denton County.

The city of Krum will receive $1.2 million in financing for a new water well on the east side of the city, near Masch Branch road. The financing is expected to save the city about $125,000 over the life of the loan.

Mustang Special Utility District, which serves the northeast side of the county, will receive about $3.6 million in financing to construct a water tower. The financing is expected to save the district about $597,000 over the life of the loan.

The Texas Water Development Board prepares the state water plan and assists in regional planning, including providing financial assistance for key projects.
