Democrats hold candidate forum in Roanoke

Six candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for county, state and federal offices will appear in a forum beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Roanoke Public Library, 308 S. Walnut St. 

The forum is being organized by the Argyle and Southwest Denton County Democrats. Candidates scheduled to appear include Roman McAllen, candidate for Texas Railroad Commissioner; Will Fisher, candidate for U.S. Congress District 26; Diana Leggett, candidate for Denton County Judge; Michael Callaway, candidate for Denton County Justice of the Peace Precinct 4; and both candidates for chair of the Denton County Democratic Party, incumbent Phyllis Wolper and challenger Angie Cadena.  

The forum is expected to last two hours. Attendees are encouraged to bring their questions. 

The primary election is March 6. The deadline to register to vote in the election is Monday, Feb. 5.
