Update 3 p.m. Friday: The reopening of the McCormick Street underpass has been rescheduled to 5 p.m. Monday, July 24.

Construction crews plan to reopen part of the Interstate 35E underpass at McCormick Street at 8 a.m. Thursday, weather permitting.

The intersection was closed in late 2016 as crews replaced and widened the bridge.

Before reopening the intersection, crews will reopen the southbound I-35E entrance ramp from North Texas Boulevard. On the frontage roads, one lane will reopen in each direction at McCormick Street, and the frontage roads will again stop at the intersection.

Signal lights will be restored over the weekend.

This work is part of the $1.4 billion expansion of I-35E and Interstate 35 between U.S. Highway 380 in Denton County and Interstate 635 in Dallas County.
