Thai pianist to perform at Denton church

Thai pianist and composer Nat Yontararak will perform in a recital at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24 at First Christian Church of Denton, 1203 N. Fulton. 

Yontararak will perform original music in an homage to Rama IX, late king of Thailand, who received an honorary music degree from the University of North Texas in 2003. 

Yontararak also will play compositions in tribute to Thai personalities. The program also will include new arrangements of familiar Christian hymns. He will be joined by family members Sugar, Pana, Paranee and Pinaree Yontararak.

Yontararak's performance will launch a concert series at the church. For more information, call First Christian Church at 940-566- 4990.
