Music Theatre of Denton will stage the musical adaptation of the 2003 film Big Fish at the end of October.
Big Fish is about traveling salesmen Edward Bloom, who entrances everyone — most of all his wife, Sandra — with his colorful stories. His son, Will, is determined to find out once and for all if his father was just a gifted storyteller or an adventurer of the highest order.
The musical is based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and the film by screenwriter John August and director Tim Burton. Music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.
Buster Maloney directs, John Norrine directs the music and Emily Leekha choreographs the show.
Performances are 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 20-21 and Oct. 27-28, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22 and 29. Tickets cost $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $15 for students. For reservations, call 940-382-1915 or visit www.musictheatreofdenton.com.
