The Greater Denton Arts Council has appointed Georgina Ngozi as its new executive director. Ngozi begins her tenure at the council on Monday.
Ngozi comes to Denton from her position as the executive director of the Bastrop County Historical Society Museum and Visitor Center. Before Ngozi came to Texas, she worked as the education director of the Brooklyn (N.Y.) Children's Museum and became the museum's president and CEO in 2009.
Ngozi has worked in the arts for 20 years. She was a 2008 Noyce Leadership Institute Fellow, and has presented at art education and cultural diversity conferences nationally and internationally.
