Flower Mound community orchestras to perform

The Flower Mound Community Orchestra opens its 2017-2018 season with Concierto de Aranjuez. The concert will be 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church, 6101 Morriss Rd. in Flower Mound.

Flower Mound Community Orchestra

Maestro Esteban Rojas conducts the program, which features Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8 in G major and Joaquin Rodrigo’s Aranjuez. Guest artist Chuck Allred will appear with the symphony to perform the guitar solo on Aranjuez. Allred is an alumnus of the University of North Texas. 

The educational orchestras of the Flower Mound Community Orchestra — The Preparatory and Philharmonic orchestras — will perform in concert at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at the church. The educational orchestras feature children, teens and amateur adult musicians.

Admission to both concerts is free. Donations are welcome.
