Composer to conduct residency this week at UNT

Composer Robert Beaser will conduct a three-day residency at University of North Texas that will include a performance of his The End of Knowing at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2 in Winspear Performance Hall at the Murchison Performing Arts Center, 2100 S. I-35  E. 

The UNT Wind Symphony will perform the piece, with UNT Regents Professor of Music Eugene Migliaro Corporon conducts. Faculty member Carol Wilson, soprano, and Jeffrey Snider, baritone, will appear as soloists. 

Tickets cost $10 for adults, $8 for ages 55 and older, non-UNT students, children, faculty, staff, retired staff and groups of 10 or more. Admission is free for UNT students, but only one ticket per student is allowed and students must show their ID. 

Beaser will give a free presentation at the weekly "Music Now" forum at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 3 in the Merrill Ellis Intermedia Theatre in the College of Music, 415 Ave. C.  A free faculty and student recital of Beaser's work will be 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4 in Voertman Hall in the College of Music, 415 Ave. C.
