The Denton County Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9 at Emily Fowler Central Library, 502 Oakland St.

Karen Franklin of the Leo Baeck Institute will present a report on the research of the late Jon Stedman, a well-known area genealogist. Stedman died in 2009, but his estate funded continued research that led to "The Stedman Story: Mystery, Intrigue, Adoption and DNA - Jewish Genealogy Strategies Unravel a Family Mystery."

The society meeting is free and open to the public.
