Bruce Hunter, a retired University of North Texas professor of applied sciences, will present a talk titled "Are Wildfires Unnatural and What Is Our Risk?" at 7 p.m. Monday at Denia Recreation Center, 1001 Parvin St.

Denton residents are acquainted with floods, hailstorms and tornadoes, but they might not realize that the open land that surrounds south and west of the Denia neighborhood are vulnerable to wildfires. Hunter will recall past fires in the area.

The presentation is free.
