MLK event to host 25th anniversary event

A 25th annual Martin Luther King Commemoration will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15 in the auditorium at Lewisville High School, 1098 W. Main St. 

Students from North Texas high schools have helped plan this year's event: Alex Lleras, Vivek Chilakamarri and Dominique Stoner from Marcus High School in Flower Mound and Cameron Dockery and Nwanne Onuoha from Lewisville High School. 

Michael Brundy is the keynote speaker for the event. Brundy, a motivational speaker, will share historical highlights at the non-political, non-denominational civic event to commemorates King’s ideals, principles and philosophy.

The commemoration will include a performance by Lewisville's Downing Middle School Orchestra, The Voices of Tau Rho Omega and a presentation of colors by Boy Scout Troop 822.
