Denton cancels tax rebate for airport business

The city government recently canceled a tax rebate agreement for a company's business improvements at Denton Enterprise Airport after the company failed to meet the minimum requirements of the agreement.

Executed in 2015, the agreement would have granted Business Air a 70 percent rebate in property taxes for some improvements made to the buildings at 4777 and 5007 Airport Road. However, the property improvements did not meet a $5 million minimum threshold required by the agreement.

In addition, Business Air no longer operates at the Denton airport. In 2017, the property was purchased by U.S. Aviation Group, which operates a flight school at the airport.
