Denton banned smoking in many public places and businesses by 2015. However, the new law gave bars and restaurants extra time to comply with the new rules. Beginning Sunday, all prohibitions in the ordinance will go into effect.
Smoking remains permissible in private clubs, bingo parlors, tobacco shops, and open air patios outside restaurants and bars.
