Craving cinema from the '80s? The Angelika Film Center-Dallas has just the series to satisfy your need for nostalgia. The North Texas cinema kicks off '80s Rewind, a yearlong series of iconic movies from the decade with a screening of The Breakfast Club at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8.

The 1985 John Hughes classic spends a day in detention with a brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess and a criminal — your typical motley crew of high school archetypes. Long on angst, hope and humor, the movie recalls the oft-painful transition from adolescence to adulthood. Rated R, 97 minutes. $12. On Feb. 5: Say Anything. The cinema is located at 5321 E. Mockingbird Lane in Dallas.
