University of North Texas Dance Professor Mary Lynn Babcock is at the helm of the upcoming faculty concert, "Through the Narrow Door," next month.

Student dancers perform Babcock's choreograpy, which  was developed in collaboration with UNT dance professor Whitney Geldon and set to music by UNT graduate Brittany Padilla.

"Through the Narrow Door" is a follow up to Babcock's piece "Dirt," a 2017 piece that examined dirt and the line separating the sacred, the clean and the unclean. "Through the Narrow Door" explores the search for authentic identity.

The piece blends music, dance, art and text.

Performances are 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 8-10 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11. Tickets cost $7.50 for students, seniors and UNT faculty faculty and staff, and $10 for adults. Performances are in the Studio Theater inside the Radio, Television, Film and Performing Arts Building, 1179 Union Circle.
