Temperatures vacillated around the freezing mark overnight Wednesday, enough to spare Denton the worst of the late winter storm that rolled through North Texas on Wednesday and Thursday.
However, power outages did affect some Denton neighborhoods. Power went out at the Professional Building at Medical City Center late Wednesday, triggering an evacuation of the building. The outage did not affect the hospital, said spokeswoman Dana Long. Crews restored power to the building via generator Thursday morning and the electrical problem was fully addressed by midday.
Denton Municipal Electric reported several smaller outages from the weather, according to city spokeswoman Jessica Rogers. Five outages affected 240 customers throughout the day, with the last outage late Tuesday affecting about 80 customers.
