Insight Denton: Are there public restrooms downtown?

Yes, although with limited hours.

The city recently added more options to the public restrooms long available inside the Courthouse-on-the-Square Museum. The Welcome Center at 111 W. Hickory St. has proven a popular place for a pit stop since it opened in June 2016. Operated by the Denton Convention & Visitors Bureau with city funding, more than 1,000 people use the restrooms there each month.

A few downtown visitors have also figured out that the city's Development Services Center, which recently moved from City Hall West to 215 W. Hickory St., has public restrooms.

Restrooms in the courthouse and services center are open during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The courthouse and its restrooms are also open Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Welcome Center is the only spot open on Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Welcome Center also is open a little later on weeknights: from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
